In the United States, Virginia specifically, there is a place that any student should visit if you’re interested in important figures in history. This is because Monticello was home to the third president of the United States – Thomas Jefferson. On a tour of his home you will be able to see the house as the president lived in it and you can even sometimes take a “behind the scenes” tour to see the Jefferson family’s private quarters.
2. Pulpit Rock, Norway
If you want a chance to reconnect with nature in the world around you, then Preikestolen, or Pulpit Rock, in Norway might be just the place for you!This point sits 600 meters above the Nordic fjords, making it a beautiful place. You will get plenty of time to see your surroundings as well as a good workout as it is a steep hike of about 90 minutes to reach the summit of Pulpit Rock.
3. Cliffs of Moher, Ireland
Another place to get inspired by the natural beauty of the world is the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. These are also a high point – sitting at 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. Another reason that these cliffs are a great place to be close to nature is that these cliffs have been around for over 300 million years and their existence has been marred by man very much at all.

If you’d rather experience culture than simply nature, you should try visiting a place where some of the finest art in the world exists: the Louvre. The Louvre is in Paris and it is one of the most visited museums in the world. It houses nearly 35,000 pieces of art including some considered timeless masterpieces such as the “Mona Lisa.” This art spans from the 19th century as far back as prehistoric times.
5. Millennium Park, Chicago
Of course, a lot has changed since the 19th century and art hasn’t been untouched either. If you want to see a more modern type of art, try visiting Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois. This park is the home of Crown Fountain. This is a 50-foot tall digital art piece by Jaume Plensa. It displays digital images and real Chicago residents are shown on LED screens. It showcases a cohabitation of art and today’s technology.
6. Vatican Museums, Vatican City
No list of inspirational places would be complete without mentioning the Vatican Museums in Vatican City. Here you can see plenty of history spread across over 13 museums and palaces in Vatican city. This includes works such as the famous Sistine Chapel painted by Michelangelo.
7. Fairy Pools, Scotland
Last up on our list is another natural beauty to get you inspired – the Fairy Pools in Scotland. The Fairy Pools are located south of the Isle of the Skye in Glenbrittle and they are the site of some truly fantastic scenery. They are surprisingly clear, blue pools with gorgeous waterfalls surrounded by purple trees that, as the name suggests, looks like a location straight out of a fairy tale.
